The University of the 3rd Age, together with the Banksia Centre, Port Sorell invites you to a photographic exhibition 💥TODAY💥 from 10 am until 2 pm in the performing arts centre space at the Banksia Centre.

The University of the 3rd Age or the U3A for short is a self-funded not for profit organisation that provides a wide range of activities for retired and semi-retired people.
They welcome new members by contacting mail@portsorellu3a.org.au. More information about the Port Sorell U3A is available on their website https://www.portsorellu3a.org.au.

The Banksia Centre is located at 1 Anderson Street Port Sorell.
The centre offers multiple spaces for venues from the smaller meeting rooms with a capacity to hold 30 people, to the stadium which has the capacity to hold up to 300 people.
The facility has catering & cooking options, free on-site car parking, event furniture and more.

IMPORTANT UPDATE

Due to the recent High Court defamation ruling, the Latrobe Visitor Information Centre has implemented changes that limit the ability to comment on our Facebook page until further notice.

The recent Facebook defamation ruling by the High Court has determined that the owner of social media pages is legally responsible for user comments on posts. Social media has become an integral part of everyday life and is a 24/7 medium; however, our monitoring capabilities are not.

As such, restrictions on the ability to leave comments has been implemented.
We encourage everyone to continue engaging with our page through messenger, stories, likes, saves, shares, and tags!

The Banksia Stadium is opening its doors for Multi

The Banksia Stadium is opening its doors for Multi-Purpose Events

Rollout flooring has come to the Banksia Stadium and the Stadium can now be used for almost any purpose – the days of saying NO to hiring the venue out because we have to protect the floorboards have gone because we now have the finest floor coverings in the country (yes we said the country) and so it's open slather in the stadium (almost).

If you would like to hold an exhibition, a market, a concert, a school play, the list is endless you can now use this venue, and you can wear your street shoes with confidence.

The floor covering is only one of two in Australia and we are desperate to try it out – so give us a reason to use it and we will give you a really special hire rate as our first client 😀.

The Banksia Centre is really buzzing – volleyball filled the centre over the long weekend – pickleball players are here four days a week, table tennis is booming, netball continues to grow and U3A programs continue to expand – life is good.

The Crowded Lounge is open Sunday to Friday, during Winter hours (8 am to 4 pm) and closed Saturdays.

Currently, open for late-night trading on the 1st Thursday of each month, and they also offer baking and catering for groups.

All artwork and merchandise in-house is uniquely Tasmanian.
